Bio:

Born ninety three years ago in the gray temple beneath the halls of clan Tertuk, Silverbender of the Temmuk clan began his life as churl to the Tertuk. The Temmuk clan was a minor clan, locally represented by only a single family. They were well respected vassals of the Tertuk clan, a much more powerful family. Both parents perished of the blue fever when Temmuk Silverbender was only aged 26. He was allowed to enroll early in the Tertuk clan academy due to an impressive aptitude for combat. While at the academy, he made the acquaintance and friendship of Tertuk Bladecutter, the jarl’s youngest son.

Despite being part of a near-extinct family line, Temmuk Silverbender’s prodigious talent and association with royalty quickly found him promoted to Ridder Temmuk. As a ridder, he gained respect for his successes in the frequent border incursions and tunnel monster attacks. At the age of 86, Ridder Temmuk was promoted to Thegn Temmuk in service to jarlsson Tertuk Bladecutter. After two short years of faithful service, an ambush by a large orc warband brought his career to an end. Although the orcs were finally forced to retreat, Thegn Temmuk had lost over three quarters of his troops, including his charge, the jarlsson. Stripped of his rank and title by the grieving jarl, Temmuk Silverbender set forth into the world above the earth to live out his days in exile.

Plying the only trade he knows, he became a mercenary to make ends meet. Lacking much moral or ethical sophistication he will take most any job except those obviously base or iniquitous. He will however, never break a contract and always follows the law to the best of his ability (again, barring clearly malicious legislation). Being a military man he is often hard pressed between the desire to follow the rules in the place of introspection and the need for creative thinking to solve an intractable problem.

Temmuk Silverbender is gruff and surly, as he has lost a good life and basically nothing has gone his way for almost five years now. He is taciturn in the face of adversity; that said, should he meet someone who could make him laugh, he would have a friend for life.

Temmuk’s religious observance is more duty and rote than actual spirituality. He has faith but beyond his daily obeisances rarely even considers god or religion. Theoretically, a strong spiritual experience could change that and provide the direction in his life that he has been seeking.

Temmuk never married, as he was without family and unable to provide the bride-price. He has almost no experience with women outside of the formal balls attended in his youth. Those being heavily scripted, he would be almost bewildered at meeting a dwarf woman above the earth, perhaps going so far as to pretend that she was not in fact a woman until the issue was pressed.

Temmuk’s favorite food is svampnudlar med leddjur which is simply not available outside of any dwarven settlement. He hates fish but loves shellfish and especially crayfish as they remind him of his childhood. He is mildly allergic to plums.
